Nominations open for Veterinary Nurse Educator of the Year Awards 2026
Last year's award was presented to Matt Badham, a veterinary nursing lecturer at Plumpton College.
Entries will close on Friday, 6 February 2026.
We are delighted to announce that nominations are now open for CQ’s Veterinary Nurse Educator of the Year Awards 2026.
This is an opportunity to celebrate the hard work and commitment of the educators who teach and inspire the next generation of veterinary nurses. The awards are open to anyone involved with training and educating veterinary nursing students in the UK.
We encourage students and fellow professionals to nominate a member of teaching staff who they feel deserves recognition for their talent, skill and dedication.
The awards will be presented at the CQ Graduation and Awards Ceremony at Central Hall, Westminster on Saturday, 28 March 2026. The event will also see this year’s graduates accept their diplomas, and will feature a keynote speech from wildlife photographer and filmmaker Gordon Buchanan.
CQ Director Jacqui Garrett said: “We’re delighted to celebrate the Veterinary Nurse Educator of the Year Awards once again. The awards are a wonderful opportunity to shine a spotlight on the individuals who go above and beyond in training the next generation of veterinary nurses.
“I would encourage anyone who has been inspired by their tutor or colleague to submit a nomination and help us recognise their contribution to the veterinary nursing profession.”
Last year’s winner was Matt Badham, a veterinary nursing lecturer at Plumpton College. Matt was described by his students as passionate, enthusiastic and inspiring, with one nominator writing: ‘Students love him and he shares happiness and enthusiasm in everything he does.’
